The platform “BK-Lab” constitute an extension of the SDME-2018 competition project with a series of R&D initiatives based on innovations and technologies.
In the context of worldwide climate change which lead to a rise in temperatures and an increase in extreme weather, we can observe a growth of energy demand in the building sector (residential and tertiary). This growing demand mainly concerns comfort in summer, in area where climate is extreme with frequent heatwaves and where there is a big urban concentrated population.
The energy objective including NZEB (Net-Zero-Energy-Building) associated to comfort aim to find the best compromise in “real-time” between a sharp needs reduction (“passive” behavior), a better return of systems and the integration of local ENR production, solar in particular.
This requirement of energy transformation is supported by an essential environmental improvement thanks to a reduction of impacts in all phases of the cycle life in habitat with a low carbon emission and with the introduction of biodiversity. To go even farther, the coupling between water consumption, energy consumption, treatment and water reuse constitute an important way of improving that should be developed in habitat.

> Increasing efficiency of biological solutions, aquaponics and phytopurification for an innovative water cycle
> Intelligent control of solar energy systems
Since the beginning of 2022, the prototype has been operated in real “Living-Lab” mode with a student team occupying the house : an essential step for the well-functioning and complete analyze of performances. All data are collected on site and remotely with specially developed tools.
The new installation of Baitykool in TSC makes it possible to integrate, then to test and develop, new technological solutions in direct relation with our industrial partners.
